Mission Statement
The mission of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League is to assist each woman of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod in affirming her relationship with the Triune God so that she is enabled to use her gifts in ministry to the people of the world.
Vision Statement
The LWML is the leading group for LCMS women where each woman is welcomed and encouraged to use her unique God-given gifts as she supports global missions and serves the Lord with gladness.
BIBLE STUDY
We begin our monthly meeting with breakfast and a Bible Study.

Quilts
Yes, we have a quilting group at Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church and we would invite everyone to join us on Wednesdays at 1 p.m.
We are an extension of the LWML (Lutheran Women’s Mission League) at our church and our purpose is to make quilts for the Orphan Grain Train, which distributes these quilts overseas to be used as bed coverings, wall dividers, and even possibly floor coverings. We use donated material and make the quilts nice but not beautiful, as the beautiful ones are confiscated and sold on the black market!
Our other purpose is to make a quilt top for each confirmand every year. These are nicer quilts and incorporate Christian symbols, a Bible verse for the confirmand, and some personal information. We present the quilt to them upon their Confirmation. We hope that wherever they go through their life, the student is covered with a quilt from Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church to remind him/her of God’s love through the Christian symbols and his/her confirmation verse.
Mites
Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. They all gave out of their wealth, but she, out of her poverty, put in everything — all she had to live on” (Mark 12:41–43).
Based on the Biblical account of the widow’s mite (Luke 21:1–4), the Mite Box is intended for regular contributions of “mites” — offerings above and beyond the support given to congregations and the LCMS. Mite Box contributions amount to millions of dollars that fund district and national mission grants and implement the LWML program.
Mite Boxes, available from the district, zone, or LWML office, are distributed to every woman in a society, and often to each member of the congregation. Local groups submit Mite Box offerings to the appointed district officer.

Missions
We send support to seminarians from South Dakota while they are in school. We also support Rev. Dr. Daniel Jastrom’s ministry in Asia.

Funerals
We serve a meal to the family and friends following the service.
Prayer Shawls/ Fleece Blankets
Prayer shawls or blankets are given out to anyone that is in need of comfort, suffering from illness, surgery, or loss of a loved one. The college students have been receiving them also.

Crafts
We make crafts for the Fall Bazaar or work on our own crafts. We have a potluck at our event on the 4th Friday of the month at 5:30 pm. We enjoy food and fellowship. You do not need to be “crafty” to join us!
Food Pantry
We collect food for the Food Pantry the 2nd Sunday of each month and provide volunteers on Wednesday and Saturday mornings for 7 weeks of the year.

Greeting Cards
We have a selection of greeting cards. Proceeds are for missions.
Please join us!
The best way to experience our love and fellowship is to join us!
We meet the 2nd Saturday of the month (September – May) in the fellowship hall.
Our meeting starts at 9:00 am with Breakfast and a Bible Study followed by the business meeting.
